Most asphalt roof shingles can last 20–40 years, yet typical roof warranties span approximately 15–25 years. This means total roof replacements happen more frequently than the shingles’ estimated lifespan. That's where asphalt shingle rejuvenation comes in. If treated early enough you can extend the life span of your roof shingles much longer than originally estimated.

Greener Shingles asphalt rejuvenator was inspired by a patented asphalt rejuvenator used to preserve the oil in roads, driveways and parking lots. Greener Shingle's bio-based asphalt rejuvenator technology was then reformulated for asphalt roofing shingles.

After completing a series of vigorous lab tests the Greener Shingles rejuvenator has demonstrated that it can help reduce the effects of aging after being applied to asphalt shingles, improve granular adhesion, help waterproof the surface and improve fire retardancy.

This environmentally safe solution improves shingle flexibility which helps the expansion and contracting that happens to the shingle throughout the day, helping the shingles to last longer, rather than cracking after being dried out.

While other rejuvenators claim to be 100% safe or 100% environmentally friendly, we won't do that. Why? Because nothing is really 100% safe or environmentally friendly. Take for example, water. Water is safe and environmentally friendly but in the form of a tsunami it certainly isn't. I think you get the point. That's why we like to stick to the facts. Our product was rated by the USDA and was certified to be 90% bio-based which is better than any other product on the market today.

Greener Shingles soy based solution isn't completely environmentally safe because we're dealing with asphalt and asphalt requires certain penetrating qualities to actually penetrate the shingles. So, be careful when other products on the market claim to be made with 100% plant based materials, they very well may be, but they won't rejuvenate your shingles properly. The trick is to find the sweet spot, a solution that penetrates the asphalt and is as bio-based as possible, that's what makes Greener Shingles the most effective rejuvenator available in North America.

Yes, the color of the shingles will darken, similar to what it was like when new. Within a couple of years the shingles will start to lighten up as the surface oils begin to oxidize off.

When new, asphalt roof shingles look nice and dark, that's because they are saturated with oil and because of those oils they are flexible and able to withstand expansion and contracting that a shingle endures throughout the heating and cooling of the day. When these oils dry out, shingles begin to look grey and then you'll notice tiny rocks in your gutters. Those tiny rocks are called granules. These granules are the shingles first line of defense from the elements. Granular loss is a clear physical sign that the shingles are aging and drying out heading towards failure. Greying is the first visual sign that the shingles are aging and beginning to dry out. When Greener Shingles asphalt shingle rejuvenator is applied to aging shingles, these super important oils will be replaced and the roof shingles will last much longer.
